Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a 1st Line Software Apprentice, based in a very successful company, who has led the way in creating cutting-edge hire software, rental software and asset management software.

Working in a busy support centre, you will acquire skills and knowledge to support a wide range of customers both remotely and by guiding them through structured processes by telephone. Your key task will be to offer technical support to customers to solve general process problems and also identify potential software issues.

 

Good problem solving skills and a logical approach will be essential along with strong communication skills. A calm but friendly manner will help when dealing with customers possessing various levels of product knowledge.

 

This role will require a general understanding of Microsoft packages.  Most important is confidence when speaking with customers and internal departments. An ability to multitask is essential, with an ability to accurately record and relay information.

 

Based just outside Nottingham City Centre, the site is easily accessible by regular bus services.

This role is supported by a Level 3 IT Apprenticeship and will suit anybody wishing to start a career in a 1st line Software Support role.

(Full training and support will be provided as part of the 12 month apprenticeship)

Training

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship you will be required to attend the 3aaa Technology Academy in Nottingham for up to 12 weeks on a block release basis for structured training. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace with your Employer. You will work towards a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship for IT, Software, Web and Telecoms Professionals. The qualifications consist of:
• Edexcel Advanced Apprenticeship in IT, Software, Web and Telecoms
• L3 Diploma in ICT Professional Competence
• L3 Extended Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles
• Level 2 Functional Skills English, Maths, ICT (if applicable)
