Job Description

Yare Accountancy Services Ltd provide a wide range of accountancy services including tax returns, annual accounts, payroll and bookkeeping. We are now searching for an enthusiastic and motivated Apprentice to become part of our team.

Duties include:

  • Working with spreadsheets, sales and purchase ledgers and journals.
  • Preparing statutory accounts.
  • Calculating and checking to make sure payments, amounts and records are correct
  • Reconciling Client accounts
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Preparation and submission of Self-Assessment Returns
  • Payroll
  • Assisting the Accounts team in maintaining an accurate and complete filing system
  • Creating and posting sales invoices for certain clients as required.
  • Posting all authorised purchase invoices and expenses to the correct nominal ledger accounts
  • Cash reconciliations and system review
  • Navigating various Accounting software systems mainly Quickbooks & VT
  • Greeting clients – via face-to-face and telephone
  • General Office administration

Working Week

Monday – Friday 9:30am – 5:00pm


Requirements & Prospects


Ideally a minimum 4 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths, English and ICT (or equivalents)

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship you will be required to attend the 3aaa Accountancy Academy in Norwich on a day release basis, the remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace.

You will work to achieve the highly recognised AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification and receive MAAT (Member of Association of Accounting Technicians) status.

You will be learning about all aspects of Accounting and learning new skills related to how businesses work. On the Apprenticeship there will be a good mixture of hands-on practical work and written work.
