Job Description

Birmingham based company are currently looking for a highly motivated, organised and excellent communicator individual to fill the role of an Accounts Assistant apprentice.This exciting opportunity will give the right candidate the opportunity to develop and excel within the business.

The role will be to assist the business with day to day duties, which include the following:


  • Preparation of accounts
  • Payroll auto enrolment and staging dates for clients
  • Preparing reports using various support systems
  • Supporting with invoices
  • Dealing with inbound and outbound calls
  • General book keeping
  • Assisting with tax calculation for the business and clients
  • Ensuring all documents are filed in a timely and responsible manner adhering to the organisations policies and produces
  • Liaising with colleagues to support where required
  • Ensuring information is corrected, calculated and entered using the correct software and processes
  • The requirement of electronic journals
  • General admin duties, filing of paperwork, post, emails and answering calls

Working Week

Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm 37.5 hours per week

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship you will be required to attend the 3aaa Accountancy Academy in Birmingham on a day release basis, the remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace.

You will work to achieve the highly recognised AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification and receive MAAT (Member of Association of Accounting Technicians) status.

You will be learning about all aspects of Accounting and learning new skills related to how businesses work. On the Apprenticeship there will be a good mixture of hands-on practical work and written work.
