Job Description

The successful applicant will be completing routine daily administrative tasks associated with registered patients, communicate effectively with patients, visitors and colleagues and Work as part of a team with colleagues and the wider health and social care community.

The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by the receptionist may vary from time to time under the direction of the Practice Manager/Admin Team Leader, dependent on patient activity and staffing levels:

  • At all times, following agreed procedures and protocols for routine work
  • At all times, observance of all policies, especially those related to confidentiality, respect, dignity, discrimination, data protection, medical records and consent
  • Faxing and photocopying as required
  • Pulling/filing and sorting of new patient notes as required
  • Be familiar with and understand the relevant elements of the computer clinical system
  • Filing and retrieving paperwork
  • Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with procedures
  • Providing clerical assistance to Practice Manager/Admin Team Leader as required from time to time, including word/data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning
  • Ordering, re-ordering and monitoring of stationery and other supplies

Working Week

Monday – Saturday 7:00am – 7:30pm 40 hrs pw


Requirements & Prospects


Ideally a minimum 4 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths, English and ICT (or equivalents)
