An exciting opportunity has arisen for an apprentice to join a successful app design and development company in the education sector. You will work with their small creative team in Speke to help design new mobile applications for different schools and the like across the Liverpool region.

The apprentice will work closely with app designers and developers. Their main day to day duties with be;

• To help create/design and develop new mobile applications for different schools.
• Use Photoshop and other design software to create different design elements for the apps
• Use different CMS (content management systems) to upload and amend content of the mobile platforms
• Update company websites with content and client websites/apps
• Assist in the full project lifecycle of apps and websites ; design, development and testing
• Writing code in HTML, CSS and JQuery
• Connecting websites and apps to local databases and data tables
• Testing and completing a checklist for websites/apps before they are presented to customers
• User-interface – creating initial mock-ups for apps and websites using Photoshop

Working Week

Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:30pm


Requirements & Prospects


A minimum of 5 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths, English and ICT (or equivalents)

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship (typically 15 months) you will be required to attend the 3aaa Technology Academy in Manchester for 16 days of training. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace with your Employer. You will work towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship standard –Software Development Technician. The qualifications consist of:
• Level 2 Functional Skills English and Maths (if applicable)
• Knowledge Module 1 – Software Development Methodologies Part 1 (Introduction)
• Knowledge Module 2 – Programming Part 1 (Introduction)
• Knowledge Module 1 – Software Development Methodologies Part 2 (Plus Exam)
• Knowledge Module 2 – Programming Part 2 (Plus Exam)
Knowledge Modules are specified by the British Computer Society (BCS)
