Job Description

Home Leisure Direct was established in 2007. We are based in the beautiful South Gloucestershire countryside, just north of Bristol. Here we have our head office and three showrooms, occupying a total of four converted barns. Over a short period of time we have successfully established ourselves as the UK’s premier Games Room Specialist.

Responsibilities include:

  • assisting in the preparation of accounts;
  • dealing with basic book keeping;
  • processing and paying invoices;
  • recording receipts and payments;
  • preparing and checking ledger balances and other monthly and yearly accounts;
  • completing and submitting tax returns, VAT returns and National Insurance contributions;
  • handling company expenses and payroll systems that pay wages and salaries;
  • using computerised accounting systems.

With experience, you might take on supervisor responsibilities and more complex tasks, such as:

  • preparing financial reports;
  • planning and budget control.

Working Week

Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:30pm


Requirements & Prospects


Ideally a minimum 5 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths, English and ICT (or equivalents)

Desired Skills

Excellent qualification in maths and written English, preferably A Levels but a minimum of 5 GCSEs A* - C required

Computer literate

Experience of using accountancy software

AAT Level 3 complete

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship you will be required to attend the 3aaa Accountancy Academy in Bristol on a day release basis, the remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace.

You will work to achieve the highly recognised AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification and receive MAAT (Member of Association of Accounting Technicians) status.

You will be learning about all aspects of Accounting and learning new skills related to how businesses work. On the Apprenticeship there will be a good mixture of hands-on practical work and written work.
