Duties within this role will include;

–       Answer inbound support telephone calls and offer support to customers

–       Update Helpdesk Ticket System

–       Be responsible for personal ticket queue, ticket updates and completing tasks with agreed SLA

–       Ensure all information is logged and explained clearly to clients

–       Be able to write detailed and explanatory notes of conversation to ensure al information is recorded on the Helpdesk system

–       Responsible for escalating jobs to appropriate staff members

–       Confident customer service, over the phone, and on site

–       Contact clients back within appropriate timescales to meet SLA’s

–       Setup of the following hardware;







–       Complete weekly backup checks

–       Troubleshoot 2nd line support jobs

–       Beginner to intermediate configuration and troubleshooting of switches

–       Beginner to intermediate configuration and troubleshooting of Wi-Fi systems and Access Points

–       Beginner to intermediate configuration and troubleshooting of servers and storage systems

–       Beginner to intermediate configuration and troubleshooting of Firewalls and Security Devices

–       Beginner to intermediate configuration, modifications and troubleshooting of email systems

–       Beginner to intermediate configuration and troubleshooting of VoIP systems.

Working Week

Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:30pm


Requirements & Prospects


A minimum of 5 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths, English and ICT (or equivalents)

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship (15-18 months) you will be required to attend the 3aaa Technology Academy in Worcester 28 days of structured training. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace with your Employer. You will work towards a Level 4 – Network Engineer Apprenticeship Standard. The qualifications consist of:
• Knowledge Module 1 - Network Principles
• Knowledge Module 3 - Network Security
• CompTIA Server plus (SK0-004) Vendor Certification
Knowledge Modules are specified by the British Computer Society (BCS)
The Server plus certification is delivered on-line through the uCertify platform.
