Job Description

Have a passion for IT and want to be a technician involved in networking? Protect 24 are seeking an enthusiastic and active IT apprentice to support their team installing security systems and providing technical support.
Protect 24 is based in central Peterborough and are looking for an active and enthusiastic individual to join the team as an IT apprentice where you would be installing security systems, networks and providing technical support as part of a team.


Duties may include:

·         Creating long range networks

·         CCTV installations

·         IP Networks

·         Troubleshooting technical issues

·         Providing remote support to clients providing fault remedy

·         Provide IT technical support

·         Administrative duties such as processing orders, invoices

·         Incoming and outgoing phone calls


In addition, the role will require possible use of ladders/cherry picker for the installation of CCTV equipment.


The ideal candidate will have knowledge of networking and possibly gained a knowledge of Cisco.

Working Week

Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm


Requirements & Prospects


A minimum of 5 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths and English (or equivalents)

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship (typically 15 months) you will be required to attend the 3aaa Technology Academy in Peterborough for 30 days of training across five months featuring structured training. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace with your Employer. You will work towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship standard – Infrastructure Technician. The qualifications consist of:
• Level 2 Functional Skills English and Maths (if applicable)
• Knowledge Module 1 - Networking and Architecture
• Knowledge Module 2 - Mobile and Operating Systems
• Knowledge Module 3 - Cloud Services
• Knowledge Module 4 - Coding and Logic
• Knowledge Module 5 - Business Processes
• One vendor certification selected based on your job role and individual capabilities (Typically a Microsoft Technical Associate (MTA) certification)
Knowledge Modules are specified by the British Computer Society (BCS)
