Job Description

How would you like to kick-start your career by completing a Business Administration apprenticeship with a top school?EMET are looking for a bright, confident individual who can engage with a range of people and have a welcoming presence as a first point of contact on the school’s reception.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities

 

·        Ensure prompt, efficient and courteous attention to parents and other visitors to visitor reception area on a day to day basis

·        Be present at Visitors Reception at all times, other than during designated break periods, in order to welcome visitors

·        Ensure visitors;

·        Sign in using the agreed Academy system

·        Are issued with a Visitors Badge

·        Sign out using the agreed Academy system

·        Return their visitors badge

·        Receive deliveries of mail and parcel etc. and to alert those responsible for their distribution or collection

·        Ensure reception area is kept in a pristine condition at all times

·        Ensure all telephone and personal enquires are dealt with efficiently and effectively in a way which promotes a positive image of the Academy

·        Be vigilant to ensure that all persons entering through the main front door report to reception

·        Ensure that Nottinghamshire Schools Portal and the Academy’s email address is opened daily and that all correspondence is distributed accordingly

 

General

 

·        Cover classes and/or undertake school duties as required

·        It is vital to the ethos of the support team that the post holder is flexible in taking on additional tasks, willing to offer help and cover for other members of the team and treats co-operation and support for colleagues as a top priority

·        To undertake any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities/grade of the post as defined, subject to the proviso that any changes of a permanent nature shall be incorporated into the job description in specific terms, following consultation.

 

Common Responsibilities

 

The post holder will:

·        Promote the school in accordance with the School Improvement Plan up to a level that is reasonable in relation to the grading of the post

·        Carry out school and Trust policy as documented and/or as directed by the Headteacher

·        Respect the confidential nature of all information acquired in the performance of the job either verbally or in writing

·        Work in a responsible and safe manner, paying attention to all Health and Safety and Safeguarding procedures operating within the school and Trust

·        Work in a way that enhances the school in the eyes of the local community and beyond

·        Work flexibly within school according to the grade or level of work;

·        Assist in the provision of a high quality educational experience for all children

·        Engage in appraisal activities and reviews as required by the Trust policy and use the process to develop your personal and professional effectiveness

Working Week

Monday – Friday 9 till 4 (1 hour lunch) Please note this is term time only & 30 hours a week.

Qualifications

A minimum of 5 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths, English and ICT (or equivalents)

Future Prospects
