Job Summary:
• The role of Assistant: System Technician involves being part of a close knit team that supports various IT Systems and Accounts, focusing on ‘World Class Delivery’ of IT Services to our Customers
• This excellent opportunity includes Level 3 IT Apprenticeship Training, complemented by thorough ‘on the job’ training and development in 4 areas of the Business: Incident Resolution, Project, Service Maintenance and Service Reporting areas of the CSC UK&I Business within the team
• It is a fixed 18 month contract with CSC on successful completion of the Apprenticeship criteria.

Assignment Areas:
• System Maintenance: Supporting our UK&I Customers by monitoring systems, resolving incidents and making agreed changes to systems via Change Requests. You will gain valuable IT experience in a number of technologies and platforms
• System Development: Supporting our UK&I Customers by training to develop small enhancements to applications that we maintain. You will gain valuable IT experience in a number of technologies and platforms
• Service Management: Supporting our UK&I Customers by providing Operational Service Management (Incident, Change, Problem and Service Level) reporting for the team. You will gain valuable ITIL based experience

Working Week

Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm

• Candidates must possess excellent logical and analytical skills, and be able to demonstrate these skills in a test environment as part of an interview
• Excellent communication skills, with a strong Customer Service ethos
• Ability to work independently, or as part of a team, and participate in peer to peer knowledge transfer
• Ability to work calmly under pressure, and handle conflicting priorities
• Main technical skills required are: - HTML, XML, Java Script, Microsoft SQL Server SQL and use of the MSS Management Console & MS Office
• Additional desired skills are: - Microsoft C#.net ,MSBI, Java, HTML, XML, Java Script, VB Script, &.Net
• Applicants with any combination of the technical skills above will be considered as in- job training will be provided if necessary

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship you will be required to attend the 3aaa Technology Academy in Blackburn for up to 12 weeks on a block release basis for structured training. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace with your Employer. You will work towards a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship for IT, Software, Web and Telecoms Professionals. The qualifications consist of:
• Edexcel Advanced Apprenticeship in IT, Software, Web and Telecoms
• L3 Diploma in ICT Professional Competence
• L3 Extended Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles
Level 2 Functional Skills English, Maths & ICT (if applicable)
