Job Description

A great ground floor opportunity to join a relatively young Internet marketing company based in central Hove as a Paid Traffic (PPC) Apprentice.We're a small team with a big mission - to be the absolute most talented, cutting edge lead generation digital marketing agency in the UK.
There are two parts to this role. The first one, is to help us build and manage our lead gen campaigns. Wet your appetite. Cut your teeth. Digital Lead generation is here to stay, and if you have this skill as a back end developer, the world is your oyster (ok enough of the cliches)

Zero experience required. We will teach you.

Secondly, we are looking for a Back-End Web Developer responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your coworkers into the application. A basic understanding of front-end technologies is therefore necessary as well.

Responsibilities

·        Integration of user-facing elements developed by a front-end developers with server side logic

·        Building reusable code and libraries for future use

·        Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability

·        Implementation of security and data protection

Design and implementation of data storage solutions

Working Week

Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm

Qualifications

A minimum of 5 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths and English (or equivalents)

Desired Skills

• Basic understanding of front-end technologies and platforms, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Good understanding of server-side CSS pre-processors, such as LESS and SASS
• Understanding accessibility and security compliance {{Depending on a specific project}}
• User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
• Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
• Management of hosting environment, including database administration and scaling an application to support load changes
• Data migration, transformation, and scripting
• Setup and administration of backups
• Outputting data in different formats
• Understanding differences between multiple delivery platforms such as mobile vs desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
• Proficient knowledge of a back-end programming language {{Depending on the specific case, a developer should have the knowledge of one or more of PHP, Python, Ruby, Java, .NET, JavaScript etc.}}
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Proficient understanding of OWASP security principles
Understanding of “session management” in a distributed server environment

Training

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship (15-18 months) you will be required to attend the 3aaa Technology Academy in 28 days of structured training. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace with your Employer. You will work towards a Level 4 – Software Developer Standard. The qualifications consist of:
• Knowledge Module 1 – BCS Level 4 Diploma in Software Development Methodologies.
• Knowledge Module 2 – BCS Level 4 Diploma in Software Languages.
You will also develop skills in an appropriate programming language or development technology, such as Oracle JAVA, Oracle PL/SQL or Microsoft C#
Knowledge Modules are specified by the British Computer Society (BCS).

Qualification Gained

Higher Apprenticeship (Level 4)
