Job Description

We are looking for a self-motivated person with a good practical approach to problem solving and a positive and proactive attitude. Initially, the role will see the trainee learning all areas of surveying with an experienced member of the team, as well as providing administration support in the office.

Key duties will include:-

 

Trainee Surveying

  • Assisting the surveyor onsite at client premises with calculating land/building measurements
  • Using the latest survey technology to assist the surveyor by operating the Total Station (Theodolite)
  • Checking surveyors calculations
  • Responsible for checking the surveyors kit before and after jobs i.e. ensure batteries are fully charged
  • Loading information onto the system and exporting to AutoCAD
  • Office time will be used to learn how to use software such as n4ce and AutoCAD and to assist the surveyor in producing technical drawings

 

Administration

  • Work towards Business Administration level 3
  • Responding to emails
  • Putting together quotations and forwarding to customers
  • Inputting information onto Access and Excel
  • Producing professional documents
  • Dealing with customer requests and queries
  • General administrative tasks such as filing, scanning and photocopying
  • Basic office maintenance and cleaning

Minimum Requirements:-

– We will cover costs to take Health, Safety & Environment Test and card application

  • Clear Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required

– We will cover application costs

Physically fit and be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Flexible approach to overtime (paid)
  • Flexible approach to working away from home Monday to Friday (expenses paid)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in small teams
  • Able to use own initiative if working alone
  • Full clean UK Driving License (desirable)
  • Reliable method of transport to get to/from head office (as required)

Working Week

Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm 30 hours per week

Ideally a minimum 4 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths, English and ICT (or equivalents)
