This is an ideal opportunity for a go getting, forward thinking apprentice with the determination to succeed. Working in a National IT department as part of an eCommerce team the role will involve testing systems for multi sites, analysing data, reporting and getting involved in software lifecycle of a large retail group.

Aldi Stores Ltd have an exciting opportunity for 2 IT apprentices to join their National IT department in the eCommerce team. Working specifically in Testing and Quality Assurance, the area of specialism will enable the apprentice to gain a comprehensive understanding of:

• System Integration Testing (SIT)
• Defect Management
• Test Data Management
• Test Status Reporting
• Change and Release Management
• Agile Software Lifecycle
• eCommerce

The team looks after the System Integration Testing of the eCommerce platform and associated connected systems, once they have been tested by Aldi’s system integration partner and prior to business acceptance. The role will be very varied and include:

• Testing data
• Reporting on data
• Data analysing
• eCommerce

The ideal candidate would have a keen interest in how systems operate and integrate and demonstrate an analytical approach to seek out areas that could present problems.

Working Week

Monday – Friday – 8.30 am – 4.30 pm (Flexibility needed). 40 hours per week


Requirements & Prospects


A minimum of 5 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths, English and ICT (or equivalents).

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship you will be required to attend the 3aaa Technology Academy for up to 12 weeks on a block release basis for structured training. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace with your Employer. You will work towards a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship for IT, Software, Web and Telecoms Professionals. The qualifications consist of:
• Edexcel Advanced Apprenticeship in IT, Software, Web and Telecoms
• L3 Diploma in ICT Professional Competence
• L3 Extended Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles
Level 2 Functional Skills English, Maths, ICT (if applicable)
