Job Description

The most famous cricket club in the world, Marylebone Cricket Club (“MCC”) at Lord’s Cricket Ground, is now looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Apprentice to join its Human Resources (HR) Department.The Human Resources Apprentice will support the HR Department with the provision of a consistent and comprehensive administrative service.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities



  • Ensuring that candidate records are kept up to date.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and candidates to set up interviews.
  • Booking meeting rooms, equipment and refreshments as required.
  • Processing all correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Creating Stater Packs.
  • Assisting with Induction activities.
  • Processing reference checks.
  • Chasing up all contractual paperwork.
  • Creating individual personnel files.


Record Keeping

  • Updating and maintaining staff files both electronic (CiPHR and Drives) and paper files.
  • Assisting in providing monthly change information to Payroll.
  • Updating attendance and sickness records.


Learning and Development:

  • Coordinating delegate lists and sending out training information.
  • Booking meeting rooms, equipment and refreshments.
  • Sending out meeting invitations and tracking responses. .
  • Emailing prompts/reminders to staff in relation to learning activities
  • Tracking attendance and cancellations at individual, department and Club level to produce monthly reports.


  • Assisting and dealing with general internal and external enquires.
  • Responding to reference requests.
  • Taking minutes at meetings as required.
  • Ad-hoc support and involvement on projects.
  • General administration as required.

Working Week

Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm


Requirements & Prospects


Ideally a minimum 4 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths, English and ICT (or equivalents)
