Job DescriptionWe’re a small business which means this role is quite varied. Work will be split approximately by 40% learning how to and repairing mobile phones and tablets, 40 % system administrations and 20% other duties including stock taking, cleaning, and keeping the workshop tidy and organised and making teas/coffees etc.
Apple iPhone and tablet screens largely dominate repair types though other repairs include charging ports, small part replacements, liquid damaged handsets, and software, from all mobile phone manufacturers.
We use a customised information system to log repairs and for tight stock control. The information system is also integrated with our website. New mobile phone and tablet models are continuously being introduced to the market and it will be your role to ensure we stay up to date/ahead of the game with our repair data. You will be using the internet for research and adding data into our system such as new models, photographs, new parts and price information. You may be required to assist with stock control by analysing our parts usage. You will be using the system to quote customers by email and log the arrival of parts into the system. Other administration duties may crossover with website marketing such as updating news sections, publishing reviews, and using social media for advertising purposes. You will also be looking at task procedures and updating instructions.
Assisting with stock takes, keeping the workshop clean and tidy, making teas/coffees etc., washing up, keeping a task rota up to date. An opportunity to interact/serve customers in person or on the phone will be available if the successful applicant would like to try.
Working Week9-5:30 Mon, Tues, Fri & Sat with one-hour lunch breaks and 12-4 Sundays with no break. Timetable may be different in initial weeks to support training. Total of 34 hours per week.
Requirements & Prospects
QualificationsA minimum of 5 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths and English (or equivalents)
Desired SkillsPreferably English, maths and science GCSE C grade or equivalent
Familiarity with Excel and Word
Preferably some experience of disassembly and reassembly
Ability to not let pressure affect work quality
