Job Description

An exciting position has become available for an IT Data technician, where you will be working as part of a small friendly team that is growing rapidly. You will be finding errors within programmes and carrying out small PC repairs as required.

We have an exciting position available for a software developer working as part of a small friendly team.

 

Your main duties will be:

 

  • Find errors within the system/program and ensure that corrected errors are running smoothly.
  • Effectively find faults that would enable software builders to give incorrect prices.
  • Report errors.
  • Ensure that errors are corrected and run smoothly.
  • Possibility to learn Software Development in the future.
  • Provide IT support to office team members with hardware or software issues.
  • General IT duties as and when required

 

Full training and support will be provided throughout the duration of the 12-month apprenticeship.

Working Week

Monday – Friday 9-5:30pm 37.5 HOURS PER WEEK

Qualifications

Ideally a minimum 4 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths, English and ICT (or equivalents)

Desired Skills

• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, particularly with the use of complex formulas.
• Strong mathematical ability is essential for this role.
• Some knowledge of Visual Basic programming would be an advantage but is not essential as full training is provided.
• Some experience of VBA programming would be an advantage although training will be available in this area

Personal Qualities

• You will have a flexible approach together with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
• You will hold a creative approach to problem solving.
• You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• You will be able to concentrate on a task for long periods of time with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work and contribute as a member of a team but also self-motivated and able to self-manage

Future Prospects

A permanent position may be available for the right candidate and possible progression onto Level 4 IT dependent on candidate’s progress through level 3 and the potential to move into the software development team in the future.

Training

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship you will be required to attend the 3aaa Technology Academy in Norwich for up to 12 weeks on a block release basis for structured training. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace with your Employer. You will work towards a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship for IT, Software, Web and Telecoms Professionals. The qualifications consist of:
• Edexcel Advanced Apprenticeship in IT, Software, Web and Telecoms
• L3 Diploma in ICT Professional Competence
• L3 Extended Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles
• Level 2 Functional Skills English, Maths & ICT (if applicable)
