Job Description

One of the areas leading specialists in vehicle management is seeking a focussed individual to develop key skills in their IT support team.Over time you will support all aspects of the business and become proficient in fault diagnosis, routine back -up / maintenance processes, and support clients with their hardware/ software issues.
As a support apprentice you will develop skills in the following areas

Predominantly PC and office environment implementation and support skills based on Microsoft Products.

· Networking: A reasonable understanding of TCP/IP and LAN technology
· PC support: General PC build and support skills
· Windows Desktop To MCP, or equivalent level of installation, upgrade and support skills
· Office applications: Installing and supporting standard software
· Business applications:  Cloud based applications and phone systems. Site based email and data systems.
· Peripheral systems: Installing and supporting network attached systems e.g. printers, backup units, storage etc.
Raspberry Pi display, CCTV, door access and building management systems etc.
· Mobile phones: Configuring, issuing and resolving issues including security and email software
· MS Windows Server: To MCP or equivalent level, support and AD administration skills
· Internet and e-mail: To install and supporting systems
· Networking Support the office network, moving users and re-patching

In due course moving on to:

· Firewalls: To understand terminology and technology and make configuration changes
· Wireless systems To support wireless network technology and make configuration changes
· Server hardware Some build and support skills – RAID/tape devices etc.
· Information security: To support the business and users

We would expect the successful candidate to be able to work independently and within a team environment to help support internal business and external client systems.  A mature, professional attitude with good interpersonal and customer (User) facing skills and a flexible attitude to working hours are essential.


Working Week

Monday – Friday 8:30am-5:30pm

Ideally a minimum 5 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths, English and ICT (or equivalents)

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship you will be required to attend the 3aaa Technology Academy in for up to 12 weeks on a block release basis for structured training. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace with your Employer. You will work towards a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship for IT, Software, Web and Telecoms Professionals. The qualifications consist of:
• Edexcel Advanced Apprenticeship in IT, Software, Web and Telecoms
• L3 Diploma in ICT Professional Competence
• L3 Extended Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles
• Level 2 Functional Skills English, Maths, ICT (if applicable)
