Job Description

Would you like to join a leading IT company based in Maidstone?Are you looking for a role where you will assist in the repair and refurbishment of IT equipment?If so please apply!

Comcheck Systems Ltd are looking for an apprentice to assist in the repair and refurbishment of IT equipment at our base in Bearsted, Maidstone.

 

The candidate will work as part of a team and will work with a varied array of IT equipment (PC’s, Laptops, Apple, Smart devices, Servers, Printers, Networking Equipment, Telecomms equipment)

The candidate will be trained in working with and repairing IT hardware which is the first requirement for a good IT services engineer.

They will also be assisting in software installation and configuration as well as online sales so an interest/understanding in web sales and design would be an asset but not essential.

The candidate should have good understanding of Microsoft desktop operating systems

(Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10)

Understanding and experience using the Microsoft Office suite.

The candidate should also have a good understanding of PC hardware, we would expect that you are able to build their own PC.

Working Week

Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm

Qualifications

A minimum 5 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths, English and ICT (or equivalents)

Desired Skills

The candidate should have good understanding of Microsoft desktop operating systems
(Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10)
Understanding and experience using the Microsoft Office suite.

The candidate should also have a good understanding of PC hardware, able to build their own PC.

Personal Qualities

Future Prospects

The correct candidate once adequately trained will join the team and continue to work within the business, they will learn an array of skills required to continue working as an IT Technician.

Training

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship (typically 15 months) you will be required to attend the 3aaa Technology Academy in Maidstone for 30 days of training across five months featuring structured training. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace with your Employer. You will work towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship standard – Infrastructure Technician. The qualifications consist of:
• Level 2 Functional Skills English and Maths (if applicable)
• Knowledge Module 1 - Networking and Architecture
• Knowledge Module 2 - Mobile and Operating Systems
• Knowledge Module 3 - Cloud Services
• Knowledge Module 4 - Coding and Logic
• Knowledge Module 5 - Business Processes
• One vendor certification selected based on your job role and individual capabilities (Typically a Microsoft Technical Associate (MTA) certification)
Knowledge Modules are specified by the British Computer Society (BCS)
