Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking for that first break of getting into the IT industry as a Technician. If you like fixing and repairing computers, then this role is for you. This will give you the opportunity to gain valuable experience.

This role will involve mainly stripping and fitting parts of computers and getting stuck into the hardware side of IT, this will enable the successful candidate to progress their skills in becoming a fully-fledged IT technician.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Stripping and fitting parts in a computer
  • Carry out repairs on PCs for clients
  • Working with staff to diagnose issues to start with until confident to do so individually
  • To work face to face with customers to understand computer issue
  • To assist other members of staff with IT issues as and when required
  • To undertake general duties in the shop
  • To work towards an appropriate apprenticeship qualification

Working Week

Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm 37.5 HOURS PER WEEK


Requirements & Prospects


Ideally a minimum 4 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths, English and ICT (or equivalents)

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship you will be required to attend the 3aaa Technology Academy in Norwich for up to 8 weeks on a block release basis for structured training. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace with your Employer. You will work towards a Level 3 Trailblazer – Infrastructure Technician. The qualifications consist of:
• Edexcel Advanced Apprenticeship in IT, Software, Web and Telecoms
• L3 Diploma in ICT Professional Competence
• L3 Extended Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles
• Level 2 Functional Skills English and Maths (if applicable)
• BCS Foundation Certificate in Networking and Architecture Principles (Knowledge Module 1)
• BCS Foundation Certificate in Mobile and Operating Systems (Knowledge Module 2)
• BCS Foundation Certificate in Cloud Services (Knowledge Module 3)
• MTA in Software Development Fundamentals or HTML5 App Development Fundamentals (Knowledge Module 4)
• BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Processes (Knowledge Module 5)
