Cable Communications are looking to recruit an Apprentice Network Infrastructure installation Engineer to join their well-established team based in Beccles.


Role will include:


  • Installing and terminating copper and Fibre-optic cabling
  • Installing active equipment (Switches etc)
  • Installing Wireless equipment
  • Installing Audio-Visual cabling and equipment
  • Possibility to develop into a network/Audio Visual technician role providing technical and configuration support
  • Will be working in a varied environment with multiple clients in varying sectors (Construction, Industrial, Local Government, Education)
  • Role will be customer facing so the candidate should be friendly and professional and able to represent the company correctly when on site.
  • Candidate should be capable of working well within a team and be flexible with their approach to work.


Training will be delivered as required, if a suitable candidate is sought this vacancy may be filled before the closing/start date.

Working Week

Role will be site based and normal working hours will be Monday to Friday 8:30 – 16:30 (excluding traveling) however candidate should be flexible with working hours.


Requirements & Prospects


A minimum of 5 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths and English (or equivalents)

Desired Skills

Some good knowledge of PC hardware and software
Ability to work in a team but also independently at times
Well organised
Full UK driving license is required

Future Prospects

There may be a permanent position for the right candidate and possible progression onto Level 4 IT upon completion of Level 3 and if suitable.

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship (typically 15 months) you will be required to attend the 3aaa Technology Academy in Norwich for 30 days of training across five months featuring structured training. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace with your Employer. You will work towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship standard – Infrastructure Technician. The qualifications consist of:
• Level 2 Functional Skills English and Maths (if applicable)
• Knowledge Module 1 - Networking and Architecture
• Knowledge Module 2 - Mobile and Operating Systems
• Knowledge Module 3 - Cloud Services
• Knowledge Module 4 - Coding and Logic
• Knowledge Module 5 - Business Processes
• One vendor certification selected based on your job role and individual capabilities (Typically a Microsoft Technical Associate (MTA) certification)
Knowledge Modules are specified by the British Computer Society (BCS)
