Job Description

Opus VR is looking for someone who has excellent IT, communication and customer service skills. Working within the support team, the successful candidate will provide first line support on a range of technical issues, supporting clients on their IT problems and issues either remotely or onsite, whilst undertaking an Advanced apprenticeship.

Main duties:

 

  • Perform remote onsite analysis, diagnosis and resolution of desktop problems for end users and recommend and implement corrective solutions.

 

  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software in order to deliver required desktop service levels.

 

  • Assess the need for and implement performance and security upgrades to PC’s and servers.

 

 

  • Create new starter accounts, PC builds, software installations, creation of cloud or on premise email accounts, printer setups and all other installations.

 

  • Receive and respond to helpdesk requests, incoming calls and emails regarding desktop, server and cloud related service problems.

 

  • Housekeeping duties including event log checking and successful backups.

 

  • If necessary, liaise with third party software and hardware vendors.

Working Week

Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm

Ideally a minimum 4 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths, English and ICT (or equivalents)

Training

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship you will be required to attend the 3aaa Technology Academy in Leamington Spa for up to 8 weeks on a block release basis for structured training. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace with your Employer. You will work towards a Level 3 Trailblazer – Infrastructure Technician. The qualifications consist of:
• Edexcel Advanced Apprenticeship in IT, Software, Web and Telecoms
• L3 Diploma in ICT Professional Competence
• L3 Extended Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles
• Level 2 Functional Skills English and Maths (if applicable)
• BCS Foundation Certificate in Networking and Architecture Principles (Knowledge Module 1)
• BCS Foundation Certificate in Mobile and Operating Systems (Knowledge Module 2)
• BCS Foundation Certificate in Cloud Services (Knowledge Module 3)
• MTA in Software Development Fundamentals or HTML5 App Development Fundamentals (Knowledge Module 4)
• BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Processes (Knowledge Module 5)
