Oxfordshire County Council is looking for a young person who wants a rewarding and challenging job being part of a team who promote education and training to Oxfordshire’s youth audience through the use of online tools, websites and social media.

This role will give you the opportunity to build your skills and prospects in a creative and rewarding environment whilst contributing to the council’s strategy to support vulnerable children and families.

Apprentice duties will include:

  • Creating and maintaining online and social media platforms including the OXME Website, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and any other fit for audience.
  • Creating regular marketing emails/materials for young people about education and training activities and opportunities.
  • Preparing reports on website usage and social media channels
  • Producing and keeping a training portfolio, making sure that all targets are achieved.  This may include attending a local college on specified days (travel expenses will be covered and support with travel arrangements will be given, if required).

Apprenticeships are trainee roles which offer an opportunity for someone with limited previous experience to enter the workforce.

Working Week

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 9.00am – 5.00pm Thursday & Friday: 9.00am – 5.00pm


Requirements & Prospects


Ideally a minimum 4 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths, English and ICT (or equivalents)

Desired Skills

• Numeracy and Literacy skills
• Knowledge of ICT programs for word processing, spreadsheet, internet and email
• Understanding of young people’s needs
• Knowledge and experience of using websites, seeking information and using a range of web tools.
• Experience of creating online content, such as a blog, Twitter stream or YouTube Channel.

Throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship you will be required to attend the 3aaa Digital Marketing Academy based in Oxford, for an initial intensive 3 day block study which is then followed by attendance at the Academy on day release once a month thereafter for structured training, the remainder of the training will be completed in the workplace. The Apprentice will work towards an Advanced Apprenticeship in Digital Marketing. The Apprenticeship consists of:
• Level 3 Diploma in Digital Marketing
Level 2 Functional Skills English, Maths, ICT (if applicable)
