Job Description

Heritage Interactive Solutions are a busy and successful organisation who are looking for an apprentice to provide a wide range of IT and software/ media related support. Could this be you? Have you always wanted a career in IT but lack the experience, then this apprenticeship position could be for you.
This will be a diverse role in which you will have the opportunity to develop your skills from managing and reporting databases through to involvement in user testing.

This role carries a degree of responsibility that overtime will increase as you develop.

Your main duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the head of development in the production of bespoke interactive projects
  • Researching and contributing to use of collaborative technologies
  • Inputting, organising and maintaining data records in a data management system
  • Using website software tools to prepare content for websites
  • You will develop your skills in coding and programming (flash,HTML.PHP,MySQL and Visual Basic)



Working Week

Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm


Requirements & Prospects


A minimum of 5 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths and English (or equivalents)

Desired Skills

Some knowledge in coding and programming and being computer literate.

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship (typically 15 months) you will be required to attend the 3aaa Technology Academy in
Leicester for 16 days of training. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace with your Employer. You will work towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship standard –Software Development Technician. The qualifications consist of:
• Level 2 Functional Skills English and Maths (if applicable)
• Knowledge Module 1 – Software Development Methodologies Part 1 (Introduction)
• Knowledge Module 2 – Programming Part 1 (Introduction)
• Knowledge Module 1 – Software Development Methodologies Part 2 (Plus Exam)
• Knowledge Module 2 – Programming Part 2 (Plus Exam)
Knowledge Modules are specified by the British Computer Society (BCS)
