Job Description

Have a passion for coding? This application development company in the city centre is looking for a coding guru to develop into a full-time programmer within the company.

Your day to day responsibilities will revolve around assisting the managing director in his varied duties, helping get new clients online with our software, configuring installations and providing technical support to front-line users.

 

A portion of your week will be spent completing development projects, with the assistance of the MD.

Training in addition to your scheduled learning with the apprenticeship will also be provided, within work time.

Working Week

Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm

Qualifications

A minimum of 5 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths and English (or equivalents)

Desired Skills

• Able to pick up coding languages
• Ability to produce code and problem solve.
• Attention to detail

Personal Qualities

Someone who already knows a programming language is essential; We don’t expect you to be an expert, but we want someone who dreams of being paid to be a programmer full-time. You should have an analytical mind. You should enjoy taking things to pieces and putting them back together again just so you can see how to do it. The ability to notice small details and changes, to be fastidious about the tiniest thing. We need a real problem solver who will use their initiative and try out their own solutions to a problem first; These are all qualities we look for in technical staff.

Training

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship (typically 15 months) you will be required to attend the 3aaa Technology Academy in manchester for 16 days of training. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace with your Employer. You will work towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship standard –Software Development Technician. The qualifications consist of:
• Level 2 Functional Skills English and Maths (if applicable)
• Knowledge Module 1 – Software Development Methodologies Part 1 (Introduction)
• Knowledge Module 2 – Programming Part 1 (Introduction)
• Knowledge Module 1 – Software Development Methodologies Part 2 (Plus Exam)
• Knowledge Module 2 – Programming Part 2 (Plus Exam)
Knowledge Modules are specified by the British Computer Society (BCS)
