Job DescriptionDo you enjoy working with numbers and being organised? If so, this opportunity to work in a busy accounts office for a well-established Lighting Retail company could light up your life and give you the skills to shine brightly in the world of accounts.
Working in a small team with training duties will include:
Assisting with preparation of Accounts for small, medium and large employers
Producing advice notes
Chasing up product returns
Occasional credit control duties
Reconciliation of petty cash
Assisting with purchase ledger
Use of Sage
Processing on line banking
Helping with end of year accounts
Assisting with VAT and tax returns
Answering customer enquiries
Occasional administration duties
Working WeekMonday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm 37.5 hrs pw
Requirements & Prospects
QualificationsIdeally a minimum 4 GCSE’s C and above Including Maths, English and ICT (or equivalents)
Desired SkillsComputer literate – Microsoft Office packages to include excel
Works well in a team
Personal QualitiesExcellent attention to detail
Motivated to do well
Future ProspectsThe right candidate will be offered a permanent position on completion of the Apprenticeship
You will work to achieve the highly recognised AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification and receive MAAT (Member of Association of Accounting Technicians) status.
You will be learning about all aspects of Accounting and learning new skills related to how businesses work. On the Apprenticeship there will be a good mixture of hands-on practical work and written work.
